Curaçao is where a cactus-studded desert landscape slopes toward the azure Caribbean, with Tafelberg Mountain rising on the horizon. Sandals Royal Curaçao sits beside Spanish Water Bay, bringing island scenery together with one of the Caribbean’s most exciting all-inclusive pickleball setups: eight dedicated courts.
Sandals Royal Curaçao is one of the Caribbean’s standout pickleball resorts, and it’s where a good share of our groups choose to spend their week. If you’re weighing luxury pickleball vacations in the Caribbean, here’s what to expect on court, where to unwind between matches, and how to choose the room category that fits your vacation style.
Sandals Royal Curaçao Pickleball Courts: Eight Fenced Courts
The resort’s eight beautiful, dedicated pickleball courts are individually fenced. That means fewer balls wandering in from neighboring games, fewer interruptions, and more time focused on your next rally. The courts are lit for evening play, so the fun doesn’t have to end when the sun goes down.
On our Pickleball in Paradise trips, we reserve dedicated court time exclusively for guests traveling with our group. Depending on the trip, the program may include clinics, rotational open play, and King of the Court options. Sandals Royal Curaçao’s court setup is one of the largest in the Sandals portfolio, giving players plenty of room to work on skills like the third shot drop, shot selection, and positioning through the transition zone.
Traveling without your paddles? Court equipment is available at no extra cost.

The Pro Shop and Shaded Seating Beside the Curaçao Courts
Right beside the courts, the pro shop and shaded seating area make it easy to pause without drifting away from the action. Picture this: you set your paddle down, grab some water, and settle into a chair at one of the tables to watch the next game.
It’s also the natural place to catch up with your group and talk through the morning’s clinic. What clicked, which shot you want to practice next, and how to improve your shot selection. The tables, chairs, and shade give the court area a social, club-like feel. You’re not just arriving to play; you have a place to connect between matches.

Dos Awa: The Two-Level Infinity Pool
After a morning on court, the Dos Awa two-level infinity pool makes a spectacular place to slow down. Expansive upper and lower pool decks look out over Spanish Water Bay, creating the mesmerizing effect of the pool blending into the horizon. There’s a swim-up bar, too, for an easygoing afternoon break.
The nearby beach is protected by a floating pier, with calm, clear water for a swim or snorkel. It’s easy to imagine the ideal rhythm: clinics in the morning, a leisurely lunch, then the infinity pool in the afternoon!

Higher categories offer selected features such as ocean views, swim-up access, butler service, or a private pool. Those are optional upgrades based on the room selected and availability. We’ll help you compare the choices and decide which category fits you best, and we can walk you through every room option available for your dates.
Inside a Sandals Royal Curaçao Luxury Room: Carisia Luxury
Carisia Luxury is the entry-level category and the room most guests book. It has a tropical garden view and is located on the second floors of three buildings. Each room has one king bed and a private balcony with a bistro table and chairs. A lovely spot for slow morning coffee among lush gardens, with occasional peeks of the ocean.
Inside, custom furnishings and a cozy sitting area make it comfortable to recharge after a day of play. Room features include:
- Large HD Smart TV, coffee and tea maker, air conditioning, and ceiling fan
- Always-stocked refrigerator with bottled water, juice, soda, and local beer
- Selection of Robert Mondavi varietal wines
- In-room safe, iron and ironing board, telephone, and outlets accepting 110 to 240 volts
- Hair dryer, make-up mirror, and Red Lane Spa amenity kit
- Spa-style bathroom with mood lighting, backlit mirrors, a single vanity, recessed lighting, and a modern walk-in shower with a see-through glass window looking into the bedroom

The Carisia Luxury room can be a smart place to put your money if you’d rather spend on pro coaching and excursions than on a view you may mostly enjoy at night. We’ll help you weigh the options and select the room that makes sense for you.

Beyond the Pickleball Courts: What’s Included at Sandals Royal Curaçao
Do as much as you want, or absolutely nothing at all! It’s your vacation, so do it up your way!
On the water. All the water sports are included, including equipment: PADI-certified scuba diving among the reefs, walls, and wrecks offshore, plus kayaks, snorkeling, Hobie Cats, and paddle boarding. Certified divers simply complete the medical questionnaire and show their card.
On land. The lineup is unlimited as well: table tennis, shuffleboard, beach volleyball, and board games, with pickleball among the resort’s land sports. That matters if someone in your group wants to play outside our reserved court times.
In the gym. High-energy group fitness classes and Life Fitness cardio and weight equipment, for anyone who doesn’t want to lose the routine while they’re away.
Day and night. Nobody throws a party like Sandals. Expect events around the beach, around the pool, and around the clock, from the slightly wild to the modern and lively.
Dining spans eight restaurants and three food trucks, plus thirteen bars including a swim-up bar. Island favorites and global flavors run from breakfast through late-night snacks, with bottomless top-shelf spirits and unlimited Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks wines. You’ll never reach for a bill.
A few things sit outside the all-inclusive rate, and we’ll always flag them before you book: private beach and poolside cabanas (with a dedicated Cabana Butler delivering cold towels, suntan oils, a fruit platter, and lunch), Red Lane Spa treatments, a private candlelight dinner under the stars, Island Routes adventure tours, and golf at the Old Quarry Golf Course. That last one is right on property, framed by Spanish Water Bay, Tafelberg Mountain, and the Caribbean Sea, and our guests get an exclusive rate.
Why Play at Sandals Royal Curaçao With Pickleball in Paradise?
We’ve sent more than 2,000 players to the Caribbean since 2021. We only book pickleball resorts we’ve played on ourselves, with dedicated courts and real programming, and our clinics and group-play court time are reserved exclusively for our guests, not shared with other resort guests.
Our trips are designed for intermediate and advanced players. Depending on the event, the experience includes a first-evening Meet & Greet with the Pros, a private cocktail reception, a private beach dinner for the group, a Welcome Bag with a Pickleball in Paradise T-shirt and luggage tags, and a 5×7 group photo.
Our no-cost concierge planning service helps coordinate the details, from flights and transfers to what to pack and which room category to choose. We can also help with special celebrations and recommend a driver for exploring the island. The planning service costs nothing extra. Most gratuities are included in all-inclusive packages, though some may be excluded, such as gratuities for shuttle drivers. Travel insurance is strongly recommended and quoted for each guest.
When group rates beat the published price, we describe the difference as significant savings off our original, advertised booking rate. Contact me for more details!
