On the beautiful resort, the adult only section of Grand Palladium, called TRS Resort has it all; gorgeous suites, pools, beautiful beach, delicious gastronomy, and great entertainment. Grab your friends and hurry and get your deposit in for this one. In addition to pickleball, this resort has a HUGE sports complex with 2 full basketball courts, beach volleyball, paddleball, tennis, and so much more. They have a fun sports bar, great nightly entertainment, a gorgeous spa, fitness classes and plenty of gorgeous places to relax. We are building our groups in the all-adult section of the resort as the gastronomy is better and you don’t need kids around if you don’t have to on your adult only vacation.
Straight Away Travel’s TRS Pickleball Event will host only 32 players. The rooms have 2 queen beds or a king bed, so you can bring a friend, partner, or spouse.

Meet Your Pros
Chris Powers
Chris Powers is a four-time Nationals Gold medal champion as well as three-time Silver medalist. She competes around the country at the Super Senior Pro level. She competes in the Mixed Doubles and Women’s Doubles categories. She has competed in over 80 tournaments including Nationals in Indian Wells, California, and the U.S. Open located in Naples, Florida. She has won over 200 medals in the four years she has competed. Chris resides in Aiken, South Carolina with her four horses, three dogs, and two pickleball courts. She conducts lessons and camps at her farm called Two Sisters Farm. She loves to teach and her students range from complete beginners to those who play competitively. Chris also runs free pickleball retreats for women diagnosed with any type of cancer through her organization, Women Beyond Cancer.
Berta Russo
Berta Russo is a certified teaching pro with a background in coaching and is currently the Head Pickleball Pro at Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford, PA, conducting clinics and private lessons. She has also taught camps throughout the country and in the Caribbean.
In the past, Berta played on the WTA women’s pro tennis circuit, competing in Wimbledon, US Open, French Open, and in Australia, reaching a top ranking of 26 in the world and 11 in the US in singles. Berta turned her focus to pickleball in 2018. Competition highlights include:
She is 5 time Nationals Gold medal winner in singles, mixed and women’s, a Nationals Silver medalist in 60+ Mixed, a US Open Gold medal winner with partner Chris Powers, and an APP Senior Master’s Pro Gold medal winner.

Pickleball Trip FAQ’s
Yes! Many of our guests arrive early or stay late to enjoy all the amenities our gorgeous resorts offer. We are pleased to help you save some money, too, by offering you the group rate we have negotiated with the resort.
No! Vaccination requirements have been lifted for all of our current destinations.
We highly encourage you to purchase travel insurance. After you have made your deposit and completed your client tasks on our portal, we send you travel insurance quotes from Allianz, a highly respected agency.
Yes! The resorts we use are luxury resorts that cater to anyone who is looking for fun in the sun. There is so much to do at the resort that you can easily fill your day and night without stepping foot on the pickleball court. Those looking for some relaxing down time will find that here too! The lounge chairs throughout the properties, both on the beach and at the pools, offer plenty of places for some R&R.
Discounts are not offered to non-players for the simple reason that we do not charge anything extra for our pickleball clinics or tournaments. All of our guests get a fantastic rate with lots of extra special touches, such as a private dinner on the beach for our group, a private cocktail reception for our group, a Meet & Greet, and a Welcome Bag. Pickleball is included for FREE!
A deposit of $400 is required to secure your room for your Pickleball in Paradise vacation.
- In the event that you need to cancel your trip, $200 of the deposit is refundable 95 days before your departure. Or, if you are unable to keep the reservation for your originally booked dates but would like to change to a different trip, the full deposit amount may be transferred to another Pickleball in Paradise trip through Straight Away Travel in the same calendar year.
- 95 days before the trip – the full balance for the trip is due.
- 95 days before the trip – all payments are nonrefundable.
